Strongly aromatic seed-like fruit from the small annual herb Cuminum cyminum. Use in deviled eggs, soups, cheese dishes, sauerkraut, stews and pork. An essential ingredient of curry powder and chile powder. Used in many Mexican (Comino), Latin-American & Indian dishes. Substitute for white cumin, safed zerra, in Asian recipes.
