Nail-shaped flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum tree, characterized by a strong, pungent, sweet flavor. Use in fruits, sweet yellow vegetables, ham and pork roasts, cakes, cookies, desserts, pickling and beverages. Onion adorned with 3 or 4 cloves is a classic addition to stocks. Don't forget to make some pomander balls for gifts.
